The PDS Geosciences Node is has now opened the Orbital Data Explorer v3.0 beta to the public for review. The Orbital Data Explorer v3.0 Beta uses the same database as the live ODE website, so the same PDS data products are available through both the live and beta websites.

The Orbital Data Explorer v3.0 Beta provides new functions including:

True product search on coverage - the current ODE websites rely on location searches base on PDS product center points.

ODE has now cataloged MRO Release 5.1 of CRISM data sets, which includes summary product versions of all of the MRDR tiles delivered as Lambert albedo in release 5. Summary products are derived spectral indices indicative of spectral features in the atmospheric and in surface materials.

ODE Version 2.2.1 released. V2.2.1 provides OMEGA footprints. These footprints are derived from the corresponding GEOMETRY file for each OMEGA data product. Each footprint consists of 16 selected edge points from QUBE IR scan portion of the GEOMETRY file. A similar improvement to the CRISM footprints will be released soon.

ODE Version 2.2 released. V2.2 includes "one-stop shopping", extending download capabilities beyond PDS Geosciences node products to include products at other PDS nodes. Users can now add HiRISE and CTX products directly to their download cart. When requested, ODE will acquire the selected products from the PDS Imaging node or PDS HiRISE data node and include them in their ODE download zip, tar, or tar.gz file. Users can even request these products in a mini-archive, i.e. including all associated document and ancillary files. Users may also download HiRISE and CTX product files (including the wide range of HiRISE and CTX browse images) directly from the product result page.

New HiRISE PDS interim release adds an additional 651 color RDR products in the orbit range of 3400 to 4399. This corresponds to data acquired by HiRISE between April 16, 2007 and July 5, 2007. ODE now contains HiRISE data from 3/24/06 to 11/28/07.

SHARAD release 2 data is expected by September 24th, 2007. Currently, ODE includes released SHARAD RDR and EDR data from December 6th, 2006 to January 6th, 2007.

August 21st, 2007

Version 2.1 of the Mars Orbital Data Explorer is released.

Special CRISM data set filtering options have been added to the Data Product Search Page.

Desired data sets must now be selected before submitting a query from the Data Product Search Page. This change was made to enhance the speed of product queries as the data holdings of ODE grow with each PDS data release.

June 22nd, 2007 - MRO Release 1

The first release of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) data is available through ODE. This includes: CRISM TRDR, EDR, CDR, and DDR products, HiRISE RDR, EDR products, CTX EDR products, and Gravity/Radio Science EDR products. SHARAD products coming soon. ODE also includes European Space Agency (ESA)'s Mars Express OMEGA EDR product sand HRSC RDR products.
